Life in El Cajon

El Cajon is a part of San Diego known as East County. Basically, what that means is this is where the true cowboys reside. Don't be surprised if you see a few cowboy hats as well as some sh!t kickers (cowboy boots) being worn by the locals.  Every now and then you'll  hear the low rumble of a Harley Davidson as it cruises down the road.  There is even a Hell's Angels bar which is the true trademark of a country style of living.  I've made some pretty good friends here, though.  Some that I know that I will stay linked with for a long time no matter where I go.   Unfortunately, as I explore more of this area I still can't seem to escape the racial jokes.  It gets kind of old after a while especially when each person tells them like they are the first person ever to come up with it.  There are surrounding places that people say I should not get lost in.  Namely, a place called Lakeside and another place called Santee (or "Clantee" so affectionately named by the locals).  Still, not everyone is here backwards.  I still find people with open minds and hearts as well as good taste in music so it ain't all bad.
